Usually this indicates some external problem e. But those are also the kind of problems that are very difficult to diagnose remotely.
To be honest, I have no clue why it doesn't work. We only know it works on Windows. So the dive computer no low battery and PC interface no bad contacts are probably fine, and obviously torkve knows the correct procedure to initiate a transfer too PC mode, although I don't even know if that is required for the leonardo. So basically the only thing that is left is the ftdi driver.
But since ftdi is not some rare usb-serial chipset, I would be surprised if the problem is located there. And then I'm simply running out of ideas Unfortunately I'm not familiar with driver debugging neither in windows, nor in linux. I tried just import from computer again and it's not working. How can I test ftdi download now? Then click download as usual. With ftdi I was able to start the download, running subsurface via gksudo I assume, serial device isn't available for non-root by default. Here is subsurface. You can give yourself access to the right usb character device, and then you don't need to be running it as root. You can find a udev rules file in your libftdi1 source tree, libftdi.
Given that, the actual connection works. Now the hard part is to figure out why you can't use the in-kernel-driver. I completely forgot about that, but modemmanager is indeed know to cause problems due its automatic probing. Well, with lsof I see no process accessing ttyUSB0.

Just got a call from Leisure Pro. They were let know by Cressi that their software does not work on Windows 8. Leisure Pro was able to download the data from the computer on a windows 7 machine. So, if you are looking to buy this computer and plan to download the data note that it is not compatible with Windows 8!
LeisurePro will now issue me a full refund. Now I need to get another computer as the experience with Cressi was not good any other recommendations? Cressi Leonardo software to download the dive data will not work with Windows 8. Messages 2 Reaction score 1 Location United States of dives 25 - It doesn't completely work with Windows 7 either, at least not Pro in certain security modes. I was able to get the dives downloaded by changing the target directory. The default directory for the dive database is under one of the "Program Files" folders, but when you're using the more advanced security model in Windows, applications can't write to that location.
The Cressi app doesn't report any error, it just doesn't work. So if you go into "Settings", and the "Interface" tab, and change the Database Path via the little folder icon, you can change the location where the dives are downloaded to somewhere under "My Documents", and the dives download fine, but after that I can't see them. The only dive database I can see is the demo one that came with the software, which is in the default location.
If there's a way to re-point the software to a new folder, I can't find it. The software seems to have been written for a previous, less security-conscious version of Windows, making it pretty much useless.
Pity, because it has a lot of potential. Suggestions appreciated. If anyone wants a detailed explanation of how to get this to work, post back, and I'll put one together. Flyfishnut Registered. Was it easy to operate, - pros and cons? I'm buying one tomorrow from a co-worker who has only dived it times it is mint. He is upgrading to AI and wants something expensive with lots of bells and whistles the opposite of what I want.
